We as a church group here in Kollam – Kerala, India, warmly greet you all in Jesus’ Name.
The living and sovereign God, the Holy One, who dwells in unapproachable light; has overshadowed our lives in His great mercy and we are forever changed.
We do not want to further divide the body of Christ and so we would just call ourselves disciples of Jesus who long to do His will here on earth. We know we have a long way to go in this spiritual journey but we depend on His grace and trust in His ability to produce in us the good works that the world needs to see.
There is one thing that we want to declare loud and clear – Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners (1Tim 1:15) and He is coming again to judge the living and the dead (2Tim 4:1). There is salvation in no one else (Acts 4:12) and so we need to repent and believe in the gospel (Mark 1:15). Let us all start living for Jesus.

We have an excellent team of godly teachers serving our children and we are greatly excited to see them learning God’s ways and deciding to obey Jesus from an early age. There are seven separate divisions catering to children from age 4 all the way into their teens. We have children coming from other churches which lack proper Sunday School and we also conduct regular camps and annual VBS meetings.
- 10 to 12 pm – First Sunday
- 10 to 11 am – Other Sundays
Our youth meetings for teens are a combination of great fun and serious interaction where they open up their lives before the Lord and ask for help regarding their future. They are a very promising group and we find great joy in seeing their lives being molded against the worldly and godless generation that they live in.
- 2 to 4 pm – First Sunday
The young adults at our church come together twice every month to explore who Jesus is and what it means to be His followers in this present day world. They are a vibrant group and also meet informally whenever possible during the week for prayer and discussion.
- 2:30 to 4 pm – 2nd and 4th Sundays
We have area based life groups that meet on weekdays in various parts of the town. These are times of great fellowship and there is encouragement from the Scriptures so that we can grow to be healthy disciples of Jesus. There are moments of heartfelt intercession and also opportunity for new comers to be counseled and helped in prayer for deliverance and other needs. We affirm to the fact that fellowshipping with each other is key to growth in the body of Christ and the example of Jesus in serving others should be worked out within the life groups practically as much as possible.
Who We Are
We started as a house fellowship in 1992, when a few medical students and others began to experience the salvation of God in a marvelous way and decided to submit totally to the Lordship of Jesus. As a result, they had to make radical decisions in their lives amidst much opposition. Having received help from men of God, the group began to meet in the house of a late retired college professor, Mrs. Teresa Geevarghese, in Kollam, Kerala. The fellowship was given impetus and helped for many years by Pastor Stanley F. Hickman from USA, whose anointed ministry helped lay proper biblical foundations in our walk. We moved out from meeting in the house in Pattathanam area in Kollam, (hence the first name, “Church at Pattathanam”), and finally God enabled us to purchase the premises where we are gathering at present.
The fellowship took more shape after God brought in the present leadership, who also began to minister the Word of God in various places within Kerala and outside. From the beginning, we saw the need of being discipled and taught the ways of God. The ministry grew and we knew that we were called to lay proper biblical foundations both in individual lives and in various groups where we were being sent to serve. We rechristened ourselves as “The Disciples Fellowship” in 2000, and had the privilege to see many of our church members go out from among us and become effective workers for Christ Jesus. Some have even been used of God to start new churches and fellowships. Over the years, we have served various churches and partnered much missionary activity and we hope to do much more in the days to come. We are very excited about serving God in a time like this.
To bring people into God’s purposes and build people in God’s ways, so that we can manifest His kingdom here on earth and work towards the ultimate aim of God, that is – Christ in all and is all.
To see DISCIPLES being trained to walk in the power of the HOLY SPIRIT, by the preaching and teaching of the WORD of God without dilution or compromise, so that JESUS can be exalted through the church.
A Word from our Pastor
Dear beloved friends,
I am glad to be able to exhort you and challenge you to consider how you can be a light in this present generation. This is a crucial hour. We are living in a time period in India where the gospel of the kingdom of Jesus needs to be manifested like never before. There is fear and confusion prevailing in the hearts of people and the knowledge of God needs to cover our land.
I believe one of the primary reasons we fail to be an effective witness is because we do not seek His face, like our forefathers did. We are busy trying to become ‘someone’ in life or making sure that our future is safe and we fail to see to see that His purposes are paramount. As the Scriptures put it – “Is it time for you yourselves to dwell in your panelled houses while this (God’s) house lies desolate?” Haggai 1:4. Let us all arise and build. Let us all produce fruit for His glory.

I am all the more convinced that Sunday messages or any sermon we hear are just like getting directions for our journey. The real journey takes place in our homes, our workplaces and every other place where we deal with other people and have a chance to examine our hearts. Every place where we rubMORE
I often wondered as to what David meant when he cried out in Psalm 27 that he wanted to dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of his life. Surely David was not talking about being in the temple itself. Isn’t it amazing how much revelation the Old Testament saints had andMORE
