We started as a house fellowship in 1992, when a few medical students and others began to experience the salvation of God in a marvelous way and decided to submit totally to the Lordship of Jesus. As a result, they had to make radical decisions in their lives amidst much opposition. Having received help from men of God, the group began to meet in the house of a late retired college professor, Mrs. Teresa Geevarghese, in Kollam, Kerala. The fellowship was given impetus and helped for many years by Pastor Stanley F. Hickman from USA, whose anointed ministry helped lay proper biblical foundations in our walk. We moved out from meeting in the house in Pattathanam area in Kollam, (hence the first name, “Church at Pattathanam”), and finally God enabled us to purchase the premises where we are gathering at present.
The fellowship took more shape after God brought in the present leadership, who also began to minister the Word of God in various places within Kerala and outside. From the beginning, we saw the need of being discipled and taught the ways of God. The ministry grew and we knew that we were called to lay proper biblical foundations both in individual lives and in various groups where we were being sent to serve. We rechristened ourselves as “The Disciples Fellowship” in 2000, and had the privilege to see many of our church members go out from among us and become effective workers for Christ Jesus. Some have even been used of God to start new churches and fellowships. Over the years, we have served various churches and partnered much missionary activity and we hope to do much more in the days to come. We are very excited about serving God in a time like this.

We have area based life groups that meet on weekdays in various parts of the town. These are times of great fellowship and there is encouragement from the Scriptures so that we can grow to be healthy disciples of Jesus. There are moments of heartfelt intercession and also opportunity for new comers to be counseled and helped in prayer for deliverance and other needs. We affirm to the fact that fellowshipping with each other is key to growth in the body of Christ and the example of Jesus in serving others should be worked out within the life groups practically as much as possible.
