Sons and slaves at the same time!

My greatest fear these days is that I may continue to be lukewarm and not take active steps to honor God with my words and my actions. If I continue to reamin idle and not use my time profitably, woe is me. If I remain prayerless and not cry out for kingdom realities, woe is me! If I am not able to shake off my lethargy and run to God, woe is me! If I make decisons for Him and am not able to stick to them, woe is me!
After becoming a child of God, we can have a wrong understanding of the grace of God. Grace can become a reason for passivity becasue we thingk that God should take charge of our lives without much effort from our part. We do not see that God has adopted us so that we can now aim to serve Him at any cost. We are sons of God and slaves to Jesus at the same time. If only we can make it our ambition to be pleasing to Him.
